I will be receiving my B.S. Degree in Business Administration with an option in Marketing in December of 2009 at California State University, Fresno. I have already received my Associates Degree in General Studies at Fresno City College. As a business major I haven’t just studied marketing. I have studied Accounting, Statistics, Business Law, Economics, Information Systems, management, and finance. All of these subjects have well rounded me to be a knowledgeable person in the business world. Not only did I get the knowledge out of school but I have learned and loved meeting people all the time and gaining personal communication skills along the way.
The past four summers I have managed and worked at our family owned fruit stand. Each year I have to hire and interview new people who are looking for a fun summer job. I manage all of the hours and schedules between everyone and also work at least fifteen hours a week myself. I have absolutely loved it! It has taught me so much about sales. We deal with different people everyday and many of them come back because of the great treatment they receive, and of course because of the fresh fruit we sell. I love to sell and teach others around me to give outstanding customer service as well.
I also worked as an Expediter at a restaurant called the Elbow Room. I organized food as it came to the window and when the waitresses were too busy I would have to serve the tables myself. I learned a lot about working with a lot of people at once and being able to assist twelve servers at once. It was very hectic but I loved it! Even though it was stressful at times I love working at a fast pace and getting things done.
